The SomnoDent™ MAS was featured on 'What's Good For You' Program
Channel Nine TV show, 'What's Good For You', hosted by Sigrid Thornton, recently tested a number of common cures for snoring to find out which ones really work.
The Test
Six popular cures for snoring were tested by the 'What's Good for you' guinea pigs and included nasal strips, sewing a tennis ball into pyjamas, a snore collar, nasal spray, CPAP machine and an oral appliance (SomnoDent™ MAS).
The test subjects and their selected snoring cures were all put through their paces under the supervision of sleep physician, Dr Michael Chia, from Sleep South Australia.
Conclusion
While the cumbersome and noisy CPAP machine was the most effective treatment tested, the small discreet SomnoDent™ MAS was the only other snoring treatment rated as being effective by the 'What's Good for you' team.
While the results of the test showed a marked reduction in snoring with the SomnoDent™ MAS, the subject would have done even better if they had not been congested with a cold at the time. In fact the subject has told SomnoMed that his snoring is now completely controlled while wearing the MAS.
