SomnoSnore
When is the SomnoSnore worn?
The SomnoSnore (similar in shape to a mouth guard) is worn while the patient sleeps and can help end snoring. It is specially designed to hold the lower jaw and tongue in such a position that allows the airway to remain open.
What will the SomnoMed dentist do?
To obtain a SomnoSnore sleep apnea appliance, individuals can visit their SomnoMed dentist and ask for the treatment. If the patient is suitable for the treatment the dentist will then take an impression of the patient’s teeth and the SomnoSnore is ready for collection within 2-3 weeks. SomnoMed recommends that individuals suffering from snoring undertake a sleep study to determine whether they suffer from sleep apnea.
What is included in the 3-step system?
Custom made and professionally fitted by a SomnoMed dentist, the system consists of three components – one upper splint, one initial advancement splint and one forward advancement splint. The upper splint (step 1) is worn on the top teeth, whilst the user wears the initial advancement splint (step 2) on the lower teeth. If snoring persists, the wearer should change from the initial advancement splint (step 2) to the forward advancement splint (step 3).
Is the SomnoSnore comfortable?
Yes. Designed and developed in Australia, the SomnoSnore oral appliance is made of a unique ‘memory fit’ material to ensure optimum comfort for the patient. Every appliance is custom fabricated in accordance to all international standards.
For the final touch of comfort the patient simply runs the device under warm water prior to wearing it. The memory fit material softens, forms around the teeth and provides the most comfortable fit.
