Canberra - Off to a great start

The Canberra Peer-to-Peer Night was the first of a series of nationwide meetings intended to facilitate and promote communication in the patient care support network of Specialists and SomnoMed Dental Sleep Professionals (DSP). It was a casual night of canapés and drinks followed by a presentation and discussions over dinner. Our guest speaker Sleep Physician Stuart Miller gave a well-rounded presentation on the changing state of OSA, the role of MAS devices and new frontiers in treatment.
In total, ten practitioners attended and discussed a range of topics and concerns. These included nasal airway resistance and the role of ENTs, medicare sleep study rebates and the importance of referrals and success with the Flex versus the Acrylic among numerous others.
The night was also successful in introducing SomnoMed DSPs and referring Physicians to each other as there were plenty of opportunities to network, strengthening their relationships, and allowing for treatment concerns to be addressed. All in all, the night was a huge success. Not only was it a great night to relax and enjoy, it was also very informative for all those in attendance. We anticipate our upcoming Peer-to-Peer nights to be just as good and look forward to seeing you there. Details will be made available in the near future.
