SomnoMed’s multidisciplinary approach - the role of the Specialist in Patient Dental Care
The SomnoDent® MAS is an oral device which must be issued by a qualified dental practitioner. Establishing a professional relationship with your local dental sleep professional of choice offers dentists an appropriate point of contact to refer patients for treatment. If the Specialist deems the SomnoDent® MAS as the appropriate treatment for a particular patient, it is crucial that patients are referred to dentists who are experienced in Dental Sleep Medicine.
SomnoMed Dental Sleep Professionals earn their affiliation through participation in either an Australasian Sleep Association Oral Sleep Medicine course, or a Sydney University Dental Sleep Medicine course. There are also tiers of affiliation. This depends on the level of experience, as determined by the number of SomnoDent® MAS devices they have fitted. This training and experience is vital, as we wish to provide patients peace of mind that the device is delivered as it has been designed – designed for success.
