SomnoMed’s multidisciplinary approach - the role of the Specialist in Patient Dental Care
The SomnoDent® is an oral device which must be issued by a qualified dental practitioner. Establishing a professional relationship with your local dental sleep professional of choice offers dentists an appropriate point of contact to refer patients for treatment. If the Specialist deems the SomnoDent® as the appropriate treatment for a particular patient, it is crucial that patients are referred to dentists who are experienced in Dental Sleep Medicine.
SomnoMed Dentists can earn their affiliation through participation in either various courses including the Australasian Sleep Association Oral Sleep Medicine course, and the Sydney University Dental Sleep Medicine course. There are also tiers of affiliation. This depends on the level of experience, as determined by the number of SomnoDent® devices they have fitted. This training and experience is vital, as we wish to provide patients peace of mind that the device is delivered as it has been designed – designed for success.
